Our tour stops start at Fair Oaks Farm with their Dairy Adventure. This shows how their milk and other dairy products are made using grass fed cows. The adventure shows the birthing barn, where 80 to 100 calves are born every day, as well as shows how their cows are used in order to make milk as well as cheeses.
The La Porte County Historical Society Museum which includes the Kesling Automobile Collection which includes more than 30 automobiles from a 1903 Winton to a 1982 DeLorean, as well as many Indiana-built automobiles. The museum also features the W.A Jones Collection of Ancient Weapons, which displays almost 850 different weapons. The museum also has 14 different period rooms on display
A 60,000 square foot museum filled with the largest collection of classic Hudson automobiles in the world. The museum also features other Hudson brands, such as Terraplane, Essex, Dover, and Railton.
The 2017 W.O.K.R. Road Runner Tour (previously referred to as pre-tour) will be in the flat to slightly rolling hills of northwest Indiana. Tour stops include the Fair Oaks Farms Dairy Adventure; the La Porte County Historical Society Museum which includes the Kesling Automobile Collection, the W.A Jones Collection of Ancient Weapons, and 14 period rooms; the Studebaker National Museum and South Bend History Museum including the Oliver Mansion; Hostetler’s Hudsons Auto Museum; an Amish Thresher Dinner feast which is optional but highly recommended; and the Monon Connection Museum (website). The tour will depart from the Super 8 in Remington, IN, on Friday June 16. Make reservations for Thursday June 15 at the Super 8 (219 261-2883). The tow vehicles and trailers can be stored at that hotel during the tour. The hotel for Friday June 16 is the Travel Lodge, La Porte, IN (219 325-3808). The hotel for Saturday June 17 is the Nappanee Inn, Nappanee, IN (574 773-5999). Block of rooms have been reserved under W.O.K.R. for those nights. The total tour is about 312 miles. Optional is the drive to the Parke Regency Hotel in Bloomington, IL of 113 miles.
